Upjohn experts attending the 2026 LERA conference

Upjohn Institute researchers will be participating in the 78th annual Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA) conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota from May 28-31.

  • Susan Houseman will chair a session on The Quality of Jobs: New Survey Evidence from the American Job Quality Study, in which her co-author will present their joint paper, “Self-Employment and Job Quality.” Houseman will also participate in the LERA Editorial Committee Meeting and participate in a panel discussion of “Disposable Workers: The Transformation of Employment,” authored by Paul Osterman. 
  • Brad Hershbein will present his co-authored paper “Local Labor Market Tightness and Job Quality: Evidence from Job Changers.” 
  • Beth Truesdale’s co-author will present their joint paper, “Self-Employment and Job Quality.” 
  • Aaron Sojourner will present his co-authored paper “The Union Conversation: How Workers Talk About Unionization in the Field. Additionally, his co-author will present their joint paper, “Union Membership in Voluntary Settings: Evidence from U.S. Health Care.”
