Lineup of Where is Tuition-Free College Headed? An Update

The Upjohn Institute marks the launch of a new guidebook and website on tuition-free college Promise programs with a webinar Monday, Dec. 12.

“The Free College Handbook: A Practitioner’s Guide to Promise Research” will be released at a webinar, from noon to 1 p.m., eastern time. The webinar, “Where is Tuition-Free College Headed?” is hosted by the Upjohn Institute and the Campaign for Free College Tuition.

Speakers include U.S. Undersecretary of Education James Kvaal, Stephanie J. Montoya of the New Mexico Higher Education Department, Emily House of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, Rosye Cloud of College Promise, and Edward Smith of the Kresge Foundation.

The handbook and accompanying videos, which will be shared at the webinar, are the product of collaboration among a diverse group of 12 researchers representing 10 institutions, led by project co-directors Michelle Miller-Adams of the Upjohn Institute and Jennifer Iriti of the University of Pittsburgh. Contributing editors include the Upjohn Institute’s Brad Hershbein and Bridget Timmeney.

The project is supported by the Kresge Foundation’s CoPro 2.0 Initiative on college Promise programs.
