Timothy Bartik testifies before the Michigan House Tax Policy Committee on economic development incentives

On March 15, Upjohn Institute senior economist Timothy Bartik testified before the Michigan House Tax Policy Committee on the use of economic development incentives awarded to business. During the testimony, Bartik gave a presentation titled "A New Business Incentives Database: Implications for Michigan." The database and accompanying report, released on March 7, provides a comprehensive look at how states—including Michigan—use a variety of types of economic incentives to encourage business location and expansion decisions.
