Seth Gershenson, American University, visits the Institute on Friday, September 30 to present a seminar titled "Teacher Expectations Matter." The seminar begins at 10:30 am.

Gershenson is the author of two Upjohn Institute working papers: Performance Standards and Employee Effort: Evidence from Teacher Absences and Who Believes in Me? The Effect of Student-Teacher Demographic Match on Teacher Expectations (with Stephen B. Holt and Nicolas Papageorge) and an Employment Research newsletter article titled Did No Child Left Behind Affect Teacher Attendance?: Evidence from North Carolina.
