The Neighborhood Employment Hubs recently celebrated the successful completion of the Kellogg Community College Step-Up Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training cohort. Eleven of the program's 12 participants graduated and are now eligible to take the state certification exam. Hub staff will continue providing individualized support as graduates prepare for certification and begin their employment journey.

The Hubs also prepared for a new partnership with Goodwill that launched this summer. Through the collaboration, a participant in the Goodwill Connects youth program will gain hands-on work experience at the Neighborhood Employment Hub, building valuable workplace skills while gaining exposure to a professional office environment. In addition, during the month of May the team also reported:

  • 76 active working participants
  • 7 newly enrolled participants
  • $16.35 average wage among working participants
  • 34 support services provided to participants
