In an article appearing on April 6 in the New York Times titled "The Mysteriously Diminishing Financial Aid Package," Institute economist Brad Hershbein provides analysis of the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study that reveals changes in students' financial aid packages. Hershbein finds that, for a number of reasons, financial aid tends to decline as students progress to upperclassman status.
