Upjohn researchers to attend and present at APPAM 2025

Upjohn Institute economists Yuci Chen, Gabrielle Pepin, research analyst Kane Schrader, and senior economist Brad Hershbein will have their work presented at the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management’s 47th annual Fall Research Conference in Seattle, Washington taking place between November 12 and November 15. 
 
Dr. Chen will present work on how migrants escaping the drug war in Mexico have impacted local employment markets in the United States. Dr. Hershbein will introduce a new paper on the relationship between job amenities and worker bargaining power. Dr. Pepin’s and Mr. Schrader’s work, presented by a co-author, focuses on the implications of increasing work requirements for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.
