Regional Economic and Community Development

The Regional team’s research focus is on applied economic and technical assistance. The Regional team addresses issues in regional economies, economic development, workforce/occupational development, evaluation, and economic impact modeling and analysis. The team assists corporate, nonprofit, economic and workforce development entities along with all levels of government in problem resolution and strategic decision making.

Connected buildings

In addition to west Michigan, the team provides analysis and support to entities across Michigan and the nation, including the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the Manufacturing Extension partnership at NIST, the Regional Growth Partnership in northwest Ohio, and Fortune 500 companies. The Regional team provides economic outlook presentations inside and outside of Michigan, annual economic and employment forecasts for southwest Michigan’s metropolitan areas, and produces a quarterly publication, Business Outlook for West Michigan.
