The Kalamazoo-St. Joseph Workforce Development Board is announcing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for services to young adults funded under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998. This solicitation is for WIA activities for Kalamazoo and St. Joseph Counties for the period July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2011.

Employee Enhancement Program

The purpose of the Employee Enhancement Program is to provide grants to employers to assist with certain training expenses for regular, full-time employees. The goals are to enhance the employee’s workplace readiness skills by increasing their levels of proficiencies in an effort to create the potential for promotions and increased wages; to aid in averting layoffs within local private companies; to increase productivity; and to support the efforts of these companies in filling positions with participants in the Michigan Works programs
