2008 Conference
May 22 24, 2008 | Budapest, Hungary

The Upjohn Institute organized the 8th international research conference on Comparative Analysis of Enterprise Data (CAED) in partnership with the Central European University. Major support for the conference came from the COST Programme of the European Science Foundation together with several other sponsors. Topics discussed at the conference included reallocation, productivity, ICT, innovation and R&D, competition, transition, development, labor, adjustment costs, environment, corporate governance, trade, and linked employer-employee analysis. The conference also inaugurated a new international network funded by COST-ESF. Based primarily in Europe, the network includes scholars working on enterprise data and representation of national statistical agencies supplying the data.
The conference was held at the Central European University (www.ceu.hu) in downtown Budapest beginning on Thursday evening, May 22, with a reception and a panel on “The Future of CAED.” The program on Friday and Saturday (May 23-24) included keynote speeches, a plenary panel on “Getting Access to Business Micro Data: New Approaches,” and parallel and poster sessions. The conference concluded with a Danube River dinner cruise.
